Comment on D.C. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Blackburne-Rigsby’s Application for Redesignation

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission is inviting comment on the qualifications and fitness of D.C. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, who is seeking redesignation to a four-year term beginning March 17, 2025. Blackburne-Rigsby is the sole candidate for designation as chief judge.

Members of the bench, bar, and general public may submit comments by mail to D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission, 515 Fifth Street NW, Suite 235, Washington, DC 20001 or by email to [email protected]. Comments may also be submitted through an online survey available on the commission’s website or by using the direct link. The deadline is January 3.

JNC Recommends Three Candidates for Superior Court Vacancy

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to President Biden three candidates for a judicial vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Anita Josey-Herring. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill this vacancy.
